Terms

Status: Placeholder. Shield is drafting the production-ready terms with the proper Australian Consumer Law and indemnity language. The notes below describe Circle Back's terms in plain English. Do not treat any sentence here as legal advice — the final Shield-drafted document replaces this file before public link-out.

What Circle Back is

Circle Back is a free daily puzzle game published by InnMotion Pty Ltd ("we", "us"). One puzzle drops every weekday at 9am Melbourne time. You can play it without an account.

What you can do

You can play the puzzle. You can share your result text on any platform. You can read the blog and the FAQ. You can email a colleague and challenge them. We made all of this free on purpose.

What you can't do

  • You can't redistribute the puzzle content commercially without our permission.
  • You can't scrape the site automatically at a rate that affects other players.
  • You can't try to forge or replay tokens to manipulate the Today's Office aggregate. (See the privacy page for what those words mean.)
  • You can't pretend to be us in places we have not asked you to.

The Today's Office aggregate

When you submit a completion to the strip, you're submitting an anonymous time, not a personal result. We may use the aggregated daily numbers (median, fastest, sample count) to talk about how Circle Back is going — for example, "the office got faster this week" — without identifying any individual.

The strip is approximate by design. Eventual-consistency drift, rate-limiting, and the daily reset all mean the numbers shift. We don't claim precision. We just claim that the strip reflects roughly what the room did today.

Provided as-is

The site is provided as-is. We don't promise it will be available 24/7, that the puzzle will always make you smile, or that the typesetting will look perfect on every browser ever made. We try to keep it good. We don't guarantee perfect.

Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by Australian Consumer Law, we're not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages arising out of using Circle Back. Some rights under the ACL can't be excluded — those are not affected by this paragraph.

Changes

We may change these terms. If we do, the updated date at the top of this page changes too. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
